Dave Kalama
Dave Kalama is a legendary waterman who now coaches and shares the waterman lifestyle. His lists of achievements are impressive and extensive, including: pro windsurfer, big wave tow-in surfer pioneer, alpine skier, Molokai champion, top level paddle coach, WSL commentator, TEDx talker, stand-up paddle racer, surf and SUP board shaper, outrigger canoe racer and private adventure guide. Dave joined the BbTALKIN team in 2019.
Dave co-developed tow-in-surfing and foil surfing. Kalama and close friend Laird Hamilton were at the forefront of the SUP movement. They started a series of increasingly longer solo paddle events between various Hawaiian islands. They are known as masters of the industry.
Dave has created Kalama Kamps which include private and group lessons around the World. He is a master coach in SUP and Foil. One of his prime coaching locations is in Fiji.
Dave has been featured in big wave riding films and photographs while riding the largest ocean waves in recorded history. His extreme wave rides, chronicled in film and photographs, are daredevil conquests that do not seem possible.
